The women cell @ Rajah Serfoji Government College was commence on 02-August-2005 under the dynamic leadership of Dr.Sheelabose, Principal with the aim of empowering and orienting women to recognize their true potential and to help them attain their own stand in a competing world. Women’s cell seeks to mould the young thriving mile stone of success in their life. It also seek to empower young women to attain emotional, physical and mental freedom to withstand the changing phases throughout their life. From 2005 onwards the women cell was conducted so many lecturers on all issues concerning women. Besides these, the women’s cell conducts such events as Dance competition, singing competition, Essay writing, Poem writing, Mime Drama etc. The ultimate aim of the women cell in this college is to prepare our young women as an active fusion of modernity and tradition.

The objectives of Women's Cell (NSS) are

• Conducting Health awareness classes.
• Arranging lecturers about community living and giving them a hands on training on forming and social work.
• To resolve issues pertaining to girls/women’s sexual harassment.
• To equip the female students, faculty with knowledge of promoting awareness relating to women in the present social context, information on legal rights policies and counseling support.
• To provide a platform for listening to complaints and redressal of grievance.
• To incorporate hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.
• To safeguard the rights of female students, Faculty and staff members.
