Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science, established in 2005, with BSc Computer Science in two shifts. In 2012, M.Sc. and M.Phil. Computer Science was adjoined into the department to carry out PG courses. In 2017 the department was elevated into research department by stating Ph.D. course. At present in the department is having 12 faculty members which include five PhD qualified staff. The mission of the department is to achieve academic excellence and gain national as well as international recognition in education, research and service. The curriculum is updated every two year which aims to address the broad range of changes that have occurred in the information and communication industry in recent years. Although students are encouraged to focus their studies on one of the two tracks upon their admission to the program, students may move freely between the tracks to gain necessary expertise needed in today's workplace. Overall the program will enhance students' understanding of information technology and their impact on the social, cultural and commercial domains. We prepare students to promote artistic creativity, strategic planning and scholarly research in all areas of digital media.
